DOK - the rap/beat maker
Biography
Dok
was born 28 years ago in Pinerolo [Turin, Italy]. Grown up with soul e funk
music [his father in 80's woked him up every morning with Dionne Warwick, Donna Summer, Lionel Richie e Stevie Wonder],
in 1985 watched Beat Street. In summer 89 he started
dancing popping,
locking and electro… on the beatz of Run, Public and Beastie Boys. In 92 he
bought his first lp and create a Bboying Crew... the age of ghetto blaster,
footworks and powermoves. THe first experiences as an mc were with a team
called Thunder Squad; then the parties as Gangstarr in Modena ’94, at
the Palladium Club [Vicenza], at the station in Venice... all big parties
of that period. In 95 he broke up with Breakdancing [phisical troubles!],
choosing the "Rap Way" to express himself. Lot's of groups such
as "Fuori della Mischia" with a show at the first Hip Hop
village in 95 in Turin. The in 97 FDM become LA CRICCA, the
biggest crew [more than 20 persons] of Turin of all time.
He
get trough a lot of problems, and in 1998, working at his first demotape,
L'Armata Del Tempio [Temple's Army], he create Cobratempio. Dok met Dj
Tsura, the other Cobratempio's member, in 1999. Now Dok has produced
INDEPENDENTZ, a 12", in collabo with Extro; at the same time he's
working at his first lp, THE MASTER OF STORY TELLING, at his production
with the Style Of Beatz Prod, at the Cobratempio Studio and on his Hip Hop

Biography
In 1996 I left
as
dj entertainer for some seasons in
Turkey,
Italy
and outside, but when I returned La Cricca was melted: therefore I reformed
another crew, always with the name O.d.G., with 2 fly’s and 1 b-boy of my
zone. In 1997 I participated to the national competition “Dj Trip”, and I
gained the category of Dj Entertainer, and I knew Dj Ale; he collaborated in
the O.d.g. group in concerts and competitions (3° to the Road House
Festival, Pinerolo-Turin), a promotional
CD and several other things! In 1998 I left to work and live
in France (Paris),
to discover the French scene that I heard powerful! In the same year I began
to write articles for
“AL”, the biggest
Italian
Hip Hop
magazine, in the page “Made in France”, about what happened in this nation
(jams, concerts, discography, and interviews). Since I was in Paris my
knowledge of the culture Hip Hop is evolved; I’ve seen lot of things, I’ve
made several reportage and interviews, I’ve seen what means promoting
because over there Rap is a trade like an other. From 1999,
I ‘m
a member of
Cobratempio
studios and 3linez
Web-magazine with Dok as a free- lance! In 2001 I featured
with the Latin-American group Havana Mambo in composing (lyrics and part of
music) of La Gozadera.
In the summer
2002 I was back to Paris again for one year, I performed as the official
Dj
for the Asian Association Yumedia in various
clubs
in Paris:

and I
keep
up dating
my knowledge about world wide hip hop culture. In October 2003 I went back
to Italy,
and I performed
with
my new show-case “United Statez Flavor”
as a
Dj Selecta in
different
bar and clubs. In November 2003 I
moved for a new experience in
Japan
(Osaka) where I began to playing gigs as a Dj and organize hip-hop event in
different clubs. Also I did a featuring in a track with Shingo Nishinari
famous Rapper of Osaka produced by DJ Fuku you can listen it in my home

Now I keep
promoting my self and trying to do some connections between Japanese and
Italian artists. Anyway I’ll continue to write
article, talk and bring the real Hip Hop from every nation!
